Ok I’ll admit it, I’m guilty of not checking the pressure on my bikes as often as I should. I do check it before a long ride but I’ve been caught checking them after the bike feels a bit squirmy in the twisties more often that I’d care to admit.
That’s why my interest was piqued when I saw the Tire Pressure Monitoring system by TireGard. What I liked about it was that the system is REALLY easy to install and set up. Since they screw right on to your valve stems, you can have them on the bike in a matter of minutes. And with replaceable batteries, you don’t have to worry about having to buy new transmitters when the batteries die like you do with the units you mount inside the wheels.
Once installed you check your pressure with a simple glance of the key fob and set up alerts to let you know when your tires reach a pre-set pressure (low or high), and temperature.
Overall it’s a pretty straightforward system that provides you with some extra piece of mind knowing your tires are in good shape and alerts you when they aren’t.
